About Me

​Hello, welcome to my portfolio! My name is Jessica Utz and I am a Costume Designer, a Costume Technician, and a Costume Crafts Person. I am currently based out of Washington, DC where I am the Costume Supervisor for Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company.

Outside of Woolly I often design costumes for Rorschach Theatre Company and Perisphere Theatre, as well as doing costume crafts for Signature Theatre and stitching for various theatres including Shakespeare Theatre Company and Arena Stage. Past costume design I have also worked as a shopper for Arena Stage for Crazy, Sexy, Cool and as a personal shopper and stylist.

 

In the educational side of theatre I have worked with multiple companies such as NextStop Theatre Company and Signature Theatre to give master classes in various aspects of costume design and technology to high school students the DMV area.

Outside of DC I have worked as the Wilma Theatre in Philadelphia and was selected as one of ten fashion designers for the 2026 Debt Gala in NYC.

My work can currently be seen on stage at Woolly Mammoth Theatre for Venus and will be seen with Rorschach Theatre Company for Sparked in October and November.
